Weekly Market Update for Manhattan and Brooklyn – August 26-September 1, 2024

MANHATTAN

 

In Manhattan, 134 new listings entered the market last week, down 4.3% from the previous week.

150 Manhattan contracts were signed last week, down 21% from the previous week.

15 Manhattan contracts were signed at $5M and above. Condos outsold co-ops 8-5, with two townhouses in the mix.

Noteworthy new contracts last week were:

1.) The Star Cinema Building, 217 WEST 21ST STREET, asking $29M.

2.) 944 FIFTH AVENUE, 8THFLR asking $22M.

3.) 35 HUDSON YARDS, 8801 asking $15M.

 

BROOKLYN

 

In Brooklyn, 114 new listings entered the market last week, down 10% from the previous week.

Meanwhile, 103 Brooklyn listings entered contract last week, which was 16% fewer than the previous week.

Noteworthy new contracts in Brooklyn were:

1.) #4B at 1 John Street in DUMBO, asking $5.8M.

2.) The townhouse at 130 DOUGLASS STREET in Boerum Hill, asking $3.399M.

3.) 205 WATER STREET, 7B in DUMBO, asking $2.295M.
